

Robinhood’s Big Day
Robinhood (HOOD), during a glitzy event in Cannes on the French Riviera, announced a bunch of stuff yesterday, boosting share prices ~15%: Tokenized US stocks and ETFs across Europe, crypto staking in the US, perpetual futures for eligible EU traders, and – most impressively – a new Layer 2 blockchain optimized for real-world asset settlement and 24/7 trading in a direct competition to Coinbase’s BASE and Kraken’s INK. Solana Staking ETF to Debut Tomorrow
The SEC’s “no further comments” notice on Friday effectively green-lit the Rex-Osprey Solana ETF, which is expected to list tomorrow as the first US vehicle to pair spot SOL exposure with a pass-through staking yield. Unlike traditional crypto trusts, this ETF is structured under the Investment Company Act of 1940 using a C-corp format, which allows staking income to flow through to investors without triggering regulatory red flags. Altcoin ETF Summer?
While Rex-Osprey (see story above) appears to be the first staking ETF to figure out a workaround on the regulation front, @EleanorTerrett’s latest scoop is a sign that many others will be following a similar path. Apparently, the SEC is in the early stages of creating a generic, fast-tracked listing structure for token-based ETFs in coordination with exchanges. Simultaneously, Bloomberg ETF analysts just boosted approval odds to 95% for Solana, XRP, and Litecoin spot ETFs, predicting a wave of new crypto products in the second half of 2025. Read more →
