BitMine buys the dip, adds 70k ETH – plus a dividend
BitMine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) said it added nearly 70,000 ETH today, underscoring confidence despite the selloff. The move lifts its stash to 3,629,701 ETH (~3% of supply). At ~$2,800/ETH, the trove is now worth ~$10.2 billion, down from ~$12 billion two weeks ago as ETH slid ~30% this month. On Friday, the world’s No. 2 crypto treasury also reported net income of $328 million for its fiscal year and announced a shareholder dividend in its latest attempt to return shareholder value through traditional equities engineering. Monad’s ICO-like sale on Coinbase looks to be a success
Early commentary over Monad’s public sale on Coinbase was that it was a ‘looming failure’. Well, it turns out the critics were utterly wrong. The sale closed yesterday at ~$270 million in commitments (significantly more than the $187 million target) from more than 85,000 people. And sure, the token is trading below the public sale price as of this morning, but looking beyond just the price metric, it was an impressive feat for both the Monad and Coinbase teams in the middle of a huge bear market.
