Coinbase gives small banks a stablecoin shortcut

Coinbase is partnering with payments platform Moov to bring stablecoin payments, settlement and custody to more than 1,000 community banks and credit unions. The bank keeps the customer relationship, Moov plugs the service into its existing payments platform, and Coinbase handles the crypto infrastructure underneath. That means a local bank could let a business accept or move stablecoins without having to build its own crypto stack – and without sending that customer somewhere else to do it. Read more →

What we know about the Revolut customer data leak

Attackers used a legitimate government agency email domain to trick UK-based online bank Revolut into disclosing sensitive customer information. Names, identity documents and transaction histories may be among the exposed records. Rumors are circulating that the attackers want 10,000 BTC, but there is no proof yet to confirm that. Regardless, at least some affected customers may be high-profile or high-net-worth (including crypto) individuals. For example, former Mt. Gox CEO Mark Karpelès has revealed that he was among those affected by the breach.
