

Anthropic Strikes $9 Billion Cloud Deal With Riot Platforms
Riot Platforms just landed one of the biggest AI deals yet from a bitcoin miner – a 20-year lease for 191 MW of capacity at its Texas data center, expected to generate roughly $9.1 billion in contracted revenue. Riot hasn’t named the customer, but Bloomberg and Barron’s report it is Anthropic, and extension options could push the total value to $16.1 billion. Marathon Digital sells 23,093 BTC
MARA sold 23,093 BTC for about $1.6 billion in the first half of 2026, a clear shift away from pure accumulation. The miner still had a massive BTC position (35,577 BTC), but it’s now using sales and collateralized borrowing to manage debt, fund operations, and push into energy and AI infrastructure. Read more →
Clarity Waits, SEC Moves
Clarity now has its first Senate vote scheduled for September 15, and the White House says it remains “fully committed” to getting the bill across the finish line. Traders seem confident the Senate will at least take its shot: Kalshi puts the chance of a vote before October at 86%. Actually becoming law is another story – Polymarket puts passage in 2026 at just 22%. Meanwhile, regulators aren’t waiting.
