

Cobie takes over Base App
In a lengthy post on X yesterday, Jessie Pollak, the creator of Coinbase’s BASE, announced he is stepping back from leading the Base App and handing responsibility to crypto personality, Cobie. In the post Pollak reflected on Base's performance over the past six months, admitting that the strategy of focusing on “creator coins” was the wrong decision. While BASE has been a smashing success for Coinbase, it does feel like they have been stumbling a bit, especially with the recent success of Robinhood Chain. Read more →
Lyn Alden launches ORANGE JUICE
ORANGE JUICE has raised $40 million to acquire American businesses in which cash generated by the businesses will be reinvested into acquisitions or a BTC treasury. The company will target businesses with $1 - $10 million in annual cash flows. The company was founded by partners from VC firm, ego death capital, including Jeff Booth, Lyn Alden, Nico Lechuga, and Andi Pitt. Ricardo Salinas, the billionaire Mexican founder of Grupo Salinas, and outspoken BTC proponent, is anchoring the fund. The company plans to eventually list on the public markets. Read more →
MoonPay keeps shopping
MoonPay acquired Glide, a Y Combinator-backed startup that helps apps accept crypto deposits from different wallets, exchanges, cards and blockchains without making users manually swap or bridge funds first. The all-equity deal brings Glide’s four-person team and technology into MoonPay Deposits, which is already used by apps including Wallet in Telegram. Glide supports more than 100 tokens across 30 networks and processes over $100 million in annualized transaction volume. It’s MoonPay’s sixth announced acquisition of 2026. Read more →
