Dormant Bitcoin Wallet Transfers $8.7 Billion in BTC
After 14 years of inactivity, a Bitcoin miner from circa 2011 has woken up and begun moving ~80K BTC (worth ~$8.7B). A director at Coinbase said the bitcoin appeared to originate from a single miner in 2011 — noting that they had an address with 200,000 BTC in it at one point (worth $22 billion today).
