Meta Shareholders Overwhelmingly Reject Proposal to Consider Bitcoin Treasury Strategy

Of the 14 proposals on Meta’s 2025 ballot, Bitcoin came in dead last. Shareholders overwhelmingly rejected a plan to add BTC to the company’s treasury with less than 1% of the votes. So while corporate BTC purchases are on the rise, we haven’t seen a household name institute a treasury strategy since like Tesla (and yes, we’re ignoring the Gamestop buy). Read more→

Another Threat To GENIUS

The GENIUS Act looked set to sail through the Senate this week until leadership agreed to an open-amendment process. Senators pushing for a plan to make Visa, Mastercard, and AmEx more competitive on credit card “swipe-fees” may now hitch their measure on the stablecoin bill. Pro-crypto republicans, however, say that they will kill the entire package if the swipe-fee amendment sticks, while crypto lobby groups are urging senators to keep the legislation clean.
