

NASDAQ Gets Green Light for Tokenized Stocks Pilot
The SEC approved a NASDAQ rule change that will let eligible participants settle certain stock and ETF trades in tokenized form through a DTCC-run pilot. Without getting too technical, the trade still looks like a normal stock trade to the market, but the back-end settlement can happen in a tokenized wrapper. That’s different from Nasdaq’s separate Kraken partnership, announced earlier this month, which is more about the future distribution and shareholder-services side of tokenized equities – things like proxy voting, dividends, and corporate actions.
Notably, most tokenized stock offerings have only been available to non-U.S. users by platforms seeking to give crypto investors exposure to companies like Tesla and Apple. Read more →
